A song

a song

chestnut and ochre
you sung upon the trees of the dawn
a share of tune that girdles all that hear its beauty
sing to me a song
as fortune deals its franchise
sing to me a song dimensionless
as fate and fortune battle in the vacant minds of men
sing to me a song dimensionless and pure
as fate and greed blind the world with their corruption
sing to me a song dimensionless and pure and most of all
of love
for there is one i wish to hear the motif's in your covey song
this one is sweet with little repetition
this one's phrases charm though the magic of their words
cannot be gleaned by stealth
and that mind dimensionless requires no compass
so teach me if you will
though i am not thorough in my learning
that i may sing a song almost a peer to yours
with purity and trills
that i may sing that song
upon tresses of the night
