Faith
faith was their friend and
wishful she thought
we need faith and
lambent shone her faith
All faith was with her man too
faith is our friend she said
she prayed and her God spoke
"I will do everything you want"
and her faith and her hope glowed louder
but there was never enough faith
within her man
he became threatened by her love of God
and jealous of her zealous lover
and as time slipped across the heavens
faith was slowly evaporating from its lake
faith was nowhere to be found
faith became their enemy and
he always preoccupied with work and
temptation said, we need faith and
we will find faith again, he said, maybe tomorrow
sometime soon
there will be faith and
the fragile time they had
began to spill and split as rivers
from the lake spill
some upward to the mountain tops
others wending to salt loaded shores afar
I have to go, he said
I have no faith and
suddenly her God was gone
they never truly had faith
merely hope
to feel each other that was hope
but hope had gone
yet there is faith
it is merely somewhere
wandering like a river
and it runs through some one else
