Farmer



on a winters night
cold and pain were fused with hemorrhoids
the baldness gleamed and ideas flew around the candles
castles with their dragons
the forge lit skies a north
red bent to the sound of hammers
relentless beating heralds in a new age
and from the old a beady eye is seen
and its attachment pushing feathers
across the page of intellect
on that eager but not egotistic night
the muse she vows her love
to her a venerable foetus
and the babe is born
evolutions hand so calmly moved
changing cattle into saurians
a life of husbandry has come to this
and the child, spoiled with ink
is posted off to Mr Darwin
