Not hollow
they are not hollow
they are frail
but they are not hollow
solid through time and more condensed by age
yet the same
on the boundary of life
at its borders
slowly seeping through
into another maybe less dense existence
but not hollow
i feel theirs should be more recognition
for there are many that in a quiet candid way
they have helped
helped from the hollow of the poverty of friendship
helped up as a hand extends to help another up a bank
the hand that draws up its labour
and lends its knotted
lean fingered time
and draw their tips across
that kindness which is not so hard to foster but to find
