pearled clouds where are you travelling to
is it high
and wither destruction on some misted hill
among the upper gardens of the sometime snowy caps
or brusque among the forest canopy to play with monkeys
screeching of their valour and their intellect
pearled clouds
what are your names
for i feel certain that i have seen you some before
though curtains draw across the memory
make misty your strange arrangements
pearled clouds
in your indifference above
how fine your birthing
but how poor your are as nurses and in motherhood
for nothing have i learned from you today
except that you in part obscure the sun
and you are clustered here in my unhappy days
yet when you're gone ti's far too sultry
without in oppressions day
as clear high suns are dominant and burning
and my throat to dry to sing
