secrets
small flashes of light
phosphorescence or the byplay of fleeting shadow
was it some transient upon its lasting journey
or was it you gliding through a cleft
cut like a gorge through the air
upon whose cleaved face the invisible tomb of Petra
looks to the darkness opposite
within its mausoleum
your face has withered and your hair has growed
like roots it pours through the vacant pores
surprising red it pours into visibility
poppies waving
their staring black iris
delving illuminating and inspecting the body before them
what is essence of a person
the secret treasures and denials hid
the inner voices that are rarely aired
the small flashes of insight
and its byplay with relationship
