the procreation of evil
like a dying dawn coming into human flesh
arose propelled by eagle wings
the feted paranoia of a fated megalomania
and with the crooked nails of secret hatred
drew back the pluck strings of discord
the corn devours the earth, the rat eats the corn
the snake eats rat, and the eagle devours the snake
the eagle falls and the beetle destroys the eagle
the earth devours the beetle
but at which point in the rule of harmonic cycle
does a small perturbation send it all a kilter
and dreams from the depths of mute oceans
grotesque its deep uprising pillars cast the overshadows
where strange planked fish with misshapen teeth bite at all
and all is fears raking current that cannot be out-swum
the ballad of delusion rings upon the echos of some stroking chords
but in the beauty of a single note a truth as quiet
as a symphony of humming wings
may quiet storms that wreck the cherry orchards of violent dreams
where so many were fallen
where so many were pointlessly reduced
in blind decline to no more than a bottle of kirsch
each bottle bled with killing stench and each bottle full of eyes
for there can be no redress in watching only suffering
and reflected in the bottle on a summers day the eagle wings are
soaring in the distance but in reverse and on the floor
the eager beetle scurries round the bottle base
the sun rays bright and tan upon the grasses

like a half a million silver kings and queens
