sigh

I am the victim of love
and this secret kiss i send to you
blown like a circle a wisp of smoke
this is my heart sigh of last affection
across the space that lies between us
now expanding an infinity
my blood too i leave behind
and my perished body also on its bed of wood is burnt
but my heart untouchable as gold
pure intact as indeed in life
is buried in my sacred place
and in its guarded palace dare you seek it out
the corruption of the flesh
that was culled from wisdom
you may recall in scattered images from those long touched nights
these are my last embrace upon that solid fabric lining your life
i run a hand across the smooth damp plaster of its wall
and through its empty rooms i have lingered and looked
and said goodbye to you despite your absence
for that is loves duty and it deserves that respect
i honour you as i depart your vacant hallway
and close that final door in exit
I am the victim of love
and i cannot help but cry
can you see my sorrow through your empty windows
