song

my mothers sun was angry with me
some say that slighted it burnt my skin
dark am i
by dark synthesis the beauty of the scathing sun
flowed like daybeams in rays into my heart
its centre tanned with bonnie blushing browns
and mellowed reds and ochre
like the earth from which im born
and wandered through its vineyards
like a suckling bee
its delicious harmonies transmitted to the tangent grape
and each i ate bonded me in harmony to those lively salts
which tang its flavour desires born of natures roots
and heady yeasted ferment
like to a deer i would hide beneath the oval shade
the cedars perfumed intoxicant that saturate the fibres
of our senses its bouquet transuding through my loveliness
attending natures prism that so attracts admiring eyes
long and graceful is my carriage
like windblown waves across savanna plains
my movements and my essence slow draw the sigh appreciate
from the kindred skirts of rushes and of rose
for beauty can be so savoured by the ugly
who in awe may not wish it for themselves
but wish it be among the glories of the world
and so am i imbued with all creation
made for you
