View

what is it that constitues a view
a collection of objects within a scene
that cast beauty upon the eyes interior world
because i am certain that it is true that
each object may not in itself be perfection
but thats its union may add to a harmony
which as if in empathy vibrates
as strings vibrate within a chord
and librate that energy which we call joy
each harmony like the very accumulation of experience
like wisdom gleaned and savoured
so we recognise these things
both by substance and by learning
and on such a day as this
look upon this bay
waves that roll with that cascading rhythm
and upon that sand as fair as hair
that trails its locks into the bluest deeps
the maiden of the shores
and in the comfort of its never ending tempo
its temper and its calm as on today
then surely many moons have rode serene
and themselfes beautiful across the sky
and looked in wonder at its pretty face and stopped
a heart beat on its splendour
if i were a bigotted man i would say that
this place has that unmatched quality
but so would brethren far away complain
and rightly say they had maybe more
or attribute serenity above the rolling lines
of sea green sap and favour more say
the forests burnished greens
or the bleak abruptness, aloof
the coldness of mountains snowy tops
or vastness and surprise of deserts
strange and eerie carvings
no matter this is Harlech
this is where my heart is buried
and my spirit often swoops along this craggy headland
its bluff winds riding like the gull the raven and the kestrel
on its rising point to soar
with those i fancy of our ancient tribe
despite these bones and limbs
yet i am unconstrained by them
perturbed by the volatilty of life
in slow pedestrain tracks
what better place to watch ones destiny
come sailing in
